Text, The head sculpture with sun rays

Two small terracotta antefixes with a female head framed by nimbi (shell elements): On the left, with diadem and halo with pods, on the right, with a halo with a double floral frieze. Beginning of the first half of the 5th century BC. This is a pre-Christian sculpture with almost similar design to the modern image of Mary. The head design (aureola) as well as the triangles resembles the rays of the sun. It is located at the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulla, Rome.
