Gold adornments, bullhead pendant, red, gold beads

Georgia Museums, Georgian National Museum, Tbilisi

A gold necklace with alternating red and gold beads and a golden bullhead as a pendant. The complete set of gold adornments of the Colchian noble lady is represented in burial 13 of Sairkhe, being the earliest among the burials of Sirkhe and Vani: diadems, earrings, necklace, bracelets, signet-ring and plaques for sewing on garment.

The largest amount of items of gold and silver in Colchis comes from the burials of Sirkhe and Vani. They belonged to representatives of the ruling circle of these two political-administrative centres of the Kingdom of Colchis.
