The most important centres of the Transdanubian bronze industry were located on Szentvid Hill near Velem and Ság Hill near Celldömölk. Thse workshops produced mainly everyday tools, socketed axes, sickles, chisels and jewellery.
Religious life
The rich spiritual world pervading the consciousness of Bronze Age people is indicated by objects of unknown function and representations with magical connotations. Statuettes typically made of clay, or later on of bronze, depicting humans, birds or other animal figurines, vessels and rattles may have been the requisites for various religious ceremonies. At the center of religious beliefs stood the concept of fertility, natural forces serving the survival of the communities, the preservation of ties to the ancestors and events influencing the everyday life of people.
