Late Avar cemetery, solar discs, swastikas and solar crosses

Solar discs with swastika and cross symbols.

The 1300 graves of the Late Avar cemetery excavated at Tiszafured have revealed a lot about the way of life, attire and traditions of the Avars in the 8th century. The cemetery was first used in the 650s and functioned as a burial place up to the  Hungarian conquest at the end of the 9th century.
