Lilies on the grave, Christian symbol

LILIES ON THE GRAVE
More than 300 lily stones are known from Vastergotland province. They are called so since lilies are depicted on them - a kind of Christian symbolism.

The stones most probably marked graves and are dated to the period 1150-1250. This stone is from the church of Lugnas.
