Two round bronze brooches with animal decoration, from Finland Brooches like these were worn in pairs on the Finish woman's costume, in the same way that oval brooches were worn by women in Scandinavia. In both cases, the purpose was to attach the shoulder straps of a full length skirt that finished at armpit height.
