30b A Lappish hoard Lappish hoards can be found in Swedish Lapland, Norway and Finland. They are located at special sacrificial sites, often at watersides and sometimes near to holy stones. These sacrificial hoards include a range of metal artifacts and large quantities of bones from sacrificial animals from the 11th to the 14th century. The find from Gr?tr?sk is the biggest known Lappish hoard in Sweden. There are no animal bones in this particular find. This is why it is sometimes interpreted as a hoard, not as a genuine sacrifician hoard.
