Bronze fibulae of this type have been found in tombs at Gordion, King Midas' capital, and were probably manufactured locally.

8th - 7th Century B.C.

Metal fibulae, the ancestors of the modern safety-pin were popular items of jewellery in the early centuries of the 1st millennium B.C. They were often dedicated in temples or buried in tombs.
