Two bearded egyptians sitting and two winged humans Painted wooden coffin of the priest of Amun Amenemope Late 21st-early 22nd Dynasty, about 950-900 B.C. From Thebes The
lid is dominated by a large floral collar, over which is represented a
crossed stole of red leather, an element of the trappings of mummies at
this period, probably signifying protection. The exterior of the coffin
case carries scenes from the Amduat, showing the nocturnal journey of
the sun god; on the interior are depictions of the solar disc and the
deceased adoring various gods.
