A pre-Christian cross crosslet copper seal
Copper compartmented seals
These small metal seals are made from almost pure copper. Most have geometric or floral patterns on them, but some show birds and animals. They were used by traders to make impressions in clay packaging and jars. There is no script on these seals which proves that writing was still rare in these regions at this time. The small handles enable them to be attached to a belt.
