Medium-sized hanging bowl. This unusual hanging bowl displays a curious mix of styles and techniques. The enameled disc seen on the base is typically Celtic, while the open-work ring surrounding it is inlaid with stamped foils that are more typically Anglo-Saxon. Perhaps the bowl was made by a craftsman trained in both traditions, or in a workshop where Celtic and Anglo-Saxon craftsmen worked together. Early A.D. 600s. Donated by Mrs. Edith M.
