Elamite bronze female figure with fish tail
This woman's hairstyle closely resembles those depicted on the figurines, shown nearby, from Susa. The heavily flounced skirt is a style also depicted on Elamite rock reliefs. This object is said to be from Tang-i Sarvak in south-wast Iran and may originally have been fitted onto the arm-rest of a throne. It is unclear why the figure has a fish tail. It was thought to be unique, but in May 2007 others were found in a grave at a nearby site.
