Five-point cross inside a circle on the stela of Paser

European Museums, The British Museum

Stela of Paser. At the top Paser and Tjunroy, his brother-in-law, worship Osiris (in the form of a mummy), Isis and Hathor. A protector of the dead, Hathor appears as a cow from the desert hills. At the bottom Paser and his wife sit at a table of offerings, faced by rows of further relatives. The stela stood in the offering chapel of Paser's tomb. Paser was an overseer of builders of royal monuments. Probably Tjunroy, a senior lector priest, directed their decoration. 19th Dynasty, regin of Ramesses II (about 1279-1213 B.B.) From Saqqara, tomb of Paser. Limestone.
