Fluted bowl

Large bowls of this type were evidently intended to hold water for hand-washing while dining. The chased decoration of stylized lead patterns on the flat panels of this example closely resembles that on three of the spoons in the treasure. The center of the bowl has geometric decoration. The meaning of the interwoven six-pointed star is unknown at this date; its adoption as a Jewish symbol took place only in the post-medieval period.
