May have been dedicated to Senuna, solar cros, gold jewelry

European Museums, The British Museum

Gold jewelry. This ornate group may have been dedicated to Senuna by a wealthy female worshipper. It consists of a pair of disc brooches and a disc- and-chain neck ornament decorated with colored glass and enamel, and a large oval clasp set with a red carnelian. This gem is engraved with the figure of a lion. The carnelian gem and the glass inlays of the brooches were re-used from earlier jewelry. PY 2003, 0901. 4.7
