Oinochoe with cable patterns

Made in Miletos, about 590 - 550 B.C.

From a tomb at Kamiros, Rhodes

Plain, white surfaces decorated with just a few bold ornaments are characteristic of the new style of painting developed at Miletos in the 6th century B.C. Friezes with animals give way to a few large ornaments and human figures.
