European Museums, The British MuseumSilver brooches. These silver brooches were found together with two others, probably as part of a jeweler's hoard. They would have been the latest fashion in the early A.D. 800s and were most likely worn in pairs by high status women. Their exceptionally fine decoration is made up of plant motifs and pairs of interlaced beasts in striking open-work.
