Ball Game

For the Nahua, the ball game was called tachtli and was practiced by almost all Mesoamerican cultures. Some ceremonial centers included a ball game and it is believed that the rubber ball represented the movement of the sun. It was a game of struggle between the forces of light and darkness. There are various representations of ball players becoming victims of sacrifice by decapitation.
