Jaguar deity. Jaguars. Middle Preclassic Period. Postclassic Period as Huitzilopochtli. Associated to Tezcatilpoca, the god of the sky represented by ocelotl. The jaguar was linked to water sources and soil fertility, but also a part of his being was associated with darkness and bestiality.
