Marmorreliefs dieser Art wurden in den donaulandischen Provinzen gefertigt. Die Darstellung lehnt sich an die groBen Kultbilder an, in deren Zentrum die Stiertotung durch Mithras steht.
Die Fragmente des Reliefs tragen verschiedene Farbspuren, die uns von der ursprunglichen Bemalung eine Vorstellung geben konnen siehe die rekonstruierte Farbfassung).

Marble reliefs of this type were made in the Danube provinces. The depiction is based on the great cult images, the focus of which is the killing of the bull by Mithras.
The fragments of the relief bear various traces of paint, which can give us an idea of the original painting (see the reconstructed paintwork).
