Aurelios Trophimos Kreurenos and Berenike dedicated [this monument] with joy to their son Trophimos, and Trophimos, Trophimianes and Eutuchianos to their brother. >>

The Greek epitaph indicates that the stele was dedicated by his family to Trophimos. He is holding a bird and a bunch of grapes which echoes the foliage sculpted on the pillars, a reference to the Dionysian world and its funerary dimension. The carriage motif on the plinth recalls the rural character of Asia Minor.

Aurelios Trophimos Kreurènos et Bérénice ont consacré [ce monument] avec joie à leur fils Trophimos, et Trophimos, Trophimianès et Eutuchianos à leur frère. >>

L'épitaphe grecque indique que la stèle fut dédiée par sa famille à Trophimos. Il tient un oiseau et une grappe de raisin qui fait écho aux rinceaux sculptés sur les piliers, référence au monde dionysiaque et à sa dimension funéraire. Le motif de l'attelage sur la plinthe rappelle le caractère rural de l'Asie Mineure.
