English Translation:
Nazi-Maruttash Kudurru
Kassite period, reign of Nazi-Maruttash (1307-1282 BC), copied during the reign of Marduk-apla-iddina (1171-1159 BC) Discovered in Susa where it had been taken as spoils of war in the 12th Century B.C.
Limestone
The inscription records a gift of land granted by King Nazi-Maruttash to the god Marduk, that is, to his temple. Two texts, engraved at the base of the historiated faces, indicate that this stone stele is the copy, made during the reign of Marduk-apla-iddina I, of the stele
in earth which had been shaped at the time of the gift and placed "before" the god. The collapse of a wall having destroyed it, the heirs of the first beneficiary, several generations later, had a replica made in stone guaranteeing the continuity of the attribution of title deeds.

Époque Kassite, règne de Nazi- Maruttash (1307-1282 av. J.-C.), copié sous le règne de Marduk-apla- iddina (1171-1159 av. J.-C.) Découvert à Suse où il avait été emporté en butin de guerre au XIIe s. av. J.-C.
Calcaire
L'inscription consigne un don de terres accordé par le roi Nazi- Maruttash au dieu Marduk, c'est-à- dire à son temple. Deux textes, gravés à la base des faces historiées, indiquent que cette stèle en pierre est la copie, faite sous le règne de Marduk-apla-iddina I, de la stèle
en terre qui avait été façonnée au moment du don et placée << devant >> le dieu. L'effondrement d'un mur l'ayant détruite, les héritiers du premier bénéficiaire, plusieurs générations plus tard, firent exécuter une réplique en pierre garantissant la pérennité de l'attribution des titres de propriété.
