This stele represents one of the most common motifs of Judaic symbolism: the menorah (candlestick with seven branches), flanked by the shofar (a wind instrument used during rites) and the lulab (a palm made of myrtle, willow and of palm).
These symbols, commemorating the Temple of
Jerusalem (and its golden menorah), occupied religious art as well as funerary or even domestic art.

Cette stèle représente un des motifs les plus courants de la symbolique judaïque: la ménorah (chandelier à sept branches), accostée du shofar (un instrument à vent qui servait lors des rites) et du lulab (une palme faite de myrte, de saule et de palmier).
Ces symboles, commémorant le Temple de
Jérusalem (et sa menorah d'or), occupaient aussi bien I'art religieux que funéraire ou même domestique.
