Resurrection of Osiris, Ritual of Isis, Nephthys, and Anubi

Neues Museum

This section belongs to the "Osiris Resurrection Hymns" portion of the papyrus - part of the cycle that visualizes the resurrection of Osiris and the divine mourning ritual carried out by Isis, Nephthys, and Anubis. It occurs roughly in the central or lower section of the roll, beneath the earlier hymnic text written in hieratic script. In modern museum reproductions and catalogs (especially the Berlin State Museum holdings), this is the illustrated panel associated with the text of the "Hymn to Osiris as Lord of Abydos" or the Khoiak festival scenes.
