Odeon of Herodes Atticus (left side view)

Commissioned by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife Regilla, this Roman odeon on the southwest slope of the Acropolis once hosted musical and theatrical performances and combined Roman engineering with Greek cultural traditions. Today it remains an active venue during the Athens Festival, highlighting the lasting legacy of ancient performance spaces.
