This is a close-up of a circular iron plate from a pair of tongs/seal used to stamp the Host (unleavened eucharist bread of the Latin Church). The plate features a textured surface and a clear central impression containing an incised lily flower and a Solomon knob, dating to the 13th century AD and found at Thebes in Boeotia.
