Heavenly Liturgy icon (close-up of Christ)

This Late 17th century icon, painted by Ioannis, depicts the Heavenly Liturgy. The central figures are the Holy Trinity: Christ and God the Father seated at an altar, with the Holy Spirit symbolized by a dove, surrounded by a multitude of angels and archangels representing the heavenly hierarchy. The icon was donated by the Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece.
