Bronze finials and jewelry from Geometric period

Date range: Late 8th-early 7th century BC (finials), 7th century BC (diadem and fibulae)
Origin: Luristan, northwest Iran (finials); possibly Etruria (diadem)

The four bronze finials show the Master of animals design with human figures controlling wild beasts. These decorative tops for standards came from Luristan in northwest Iran and reflect ancient beliefs about power over nature.

The green diadem or belt features raised studs around its curved band for decoration. The fibulae show simple line patterns cut into the bronze surface.
