Slipper Slapper, Group of Aphrodite, Pan and Eros

The sculpture captures a playful and dynamic scene between three mythological figures. The goddess Aphrodite stands naked, having apparently been interrupted while preparing for a bath. She uses her left hand to cover her nudity while raising her right hand, which holds a sandal (slipper), in a lighthearted threat to strike the goat-legged god Pan.


Famous Hellenistic marble sculpture known as the Group of Aphrodite, Pan and Eros, also nicknamed the "Slipper Slapper".
