Susa, Tell from the Acropolis

Many objects from various periods were found buried in a very confined space near the temple of the tutelary god of Susa. These were probably remains of furniture and offerings from the sanctuary gathered in a kind of hiding place, probably at the end of the 12th century BC. J.-C., for an unknown reason. The pieces exhibited here represent only a small part of this set and are all from the Middle-Elamite period.

De nombreux objets d'époques diverses ont été trouvés enfouis dans un espace très restreint près du temple du dieu tutélaire de Suse. Il s'agissait sans doute de vestiges du mobilier et des offrandes du sanctuaire réunis dans une sorte de cachette, vraisemblablement à la fin du XIIe siècle av. J.-C., pour une raison inconnue. Les pièces exposées ici ne représentent qu'une petite partie de cet ensemble et sont toutes de l'époque médio-élamite.
