Borghese Collection. Diana. Flowery agate and bronze. 1st century AD 16th century bronze additions. Rome. The restoration of this ancient torso as Diana with a bow judiciously takes into account the trace of a harness and a quiver. The bronze restorations of small proportions could date from the 16th century. The piece in the collection of Cardinal Scipio Borghese (1587-1623) was exhibited in the 18th century in the Egyptian room of the Villa del Pincio. Purchased, 1807. Usual inventory MR 153 Ma 2225
